# Manage, back up, and restore your projects in Bolt

> Keep your Bolt projects organized, transfer or download them, and use version history and backups to iterate and experiment with a stable base to return to.

Manage your projects to keep them organized, save a copy locally, or transfer them to another user or workspace. Version history and backups give you a stable base to build on, so you can iterate and experiment freely.

Use these tips to work with versions and copies:

* **Bookmark a version that's working well.** Before you make a large change, bookmark a version of your project that works in version history, so you can return to it.
* **Try a risky change on a copy.** Duplicate your project and make the change on the copy, so your original project stays as it is.
* **Keep a copy outside your account.** Connect your project to GitHub or download your project files.

Restoring an earlier version of a project doesn't change your Bolt or Supabase databases.

## Manage your projects and your backups

* [Manage your projects](/managing-projects/projects-files): Find, rename, duplicate, download, transfer, or delete a project.
* [Backups, restore, and version history](/managing-projects/rollback-backup): Restore an earlier version of a project, and bookmark the versions you want to find again. You can also export a copy of your project.
