This page covers everything you need to manage billing with Bolt. Here you’ll find how to upgrade or downgrade, cancel your subscription, apply coupon codes, request a refund, update your billing details, and download invoices. If it’s related to payments or subscriptions, you’ll find the answers here.

Upgrade your plan

Bolt gives you the flexibility to scale your plan up right away if you need more tokens. And if things change, don’t worry, you can always downgrade later without any hassle. To upgrade your Bolt plan, follow the steps below:
  1. Log in to Bolt.
  2. Hover over the left side of the screen, then click My Subscription.
  3. Click See all available plans.
  4. Select the plan you want.
  5. Review options:
    • Toggle annual on or off for yearly pricing at 10% off.
    • Enter a promo code if you have one.
Upgrades are prorated. You’ll be charged right away for the rest of the current month, and you’ll also see the date and price for your next renewal.
  1. Click Confirm upgrade.
Note that prorated tokens are available right away when you upgrade. Example: if you move from a $50/26M plan to a $100/55M plan exactly halfway through your billing cycle, you would pay $25 at that point and receive 14.5M more tokens immediately.

Upgrading annual plans

If you upgrade from one annual plan to a higher annual plan, you’ll get extra pro-rated tokens since the new plan gives you a bigger monthly allowance. The upgrade charge will also be prorated.

Downgrade your plan

Downgrading your Bolt plan will take effect at the beginning of the next billing cycle.
You cannot downgrade if you’ve already upgraded in the current billing cycle. You must either wait until the next billing cycle to downgrade or cancel.
To downgrade your Bolt plan, follow the steps below:
  1. Log in to Bolt.
  2. Hover over the left side of the screen, then click My Subscription.
  3. Click See all available plans.
  4. Select the plan you want.
  5. Click Downgrade.
  6. Review the details of the downgrade.
  7. Click the confirmation message.
Downgrades take effect at the beginning of your next billing cycle. For example: if you downgrade from Pro $50 to Pro $25 on the 1st, and your billing renews on the 10th, the change will show on your account starting the 10th.
Note that any tokens you receive during mid-cycle upgrades roll over as normal, as long as you maintain a paid subscription. For more information, see Token rollover.

Cancel a scheduled downgrade

Between the time you choose to cancel and when the cancellation takes effect, you have the option of cancelling the downgrade. To cancel a downgrade, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to Bolt.
  2. Hover over the left side of the screen, then click My Subscription.
  3. Click See all available plans.
  4. Find the plan you were downgrading to, then click the Cancel downgrade text that appears below the drop-down.

How to use a coupon code

Coupon codes can come from different sources. Sometimes Bolt shares them directly through social media or email, and other times they come from our authorized partners. How you enter your promo code will depend on if you’re signing up for a new subscription from a Free plan or upgrading an existing subscription.

Upgrade an existing subscription using a promo code

  1. Log in to Bolt.
  2. Hover over the left side of the screen, then click My Subscription.
  3. Click See all available plans.
  4. Select the plan you want.
  5. Enter your promo code in the Promo code field.
  6. Confirm your upgrade.

Sign up for a new subscription from a Free plan using a promo code

  1. Log in to Bolt.
  2. Hover over the left side of the screen, then click My Subscription.
  3. Select a plan to upgrade to from the Upgrade to Pro section.
  4. Click Upgrade.
  5. On the left side of the screen, click Add promotion code.
  6. Enter your promotion code.
  7. Fill out your credit card and billing details.
  8. Click Subscribe.

Cancel a subscription

You can cancel at any time.
  1. Log in and go to My Subscription.
  2. Click Manage billing in the top-right (this opens the Billing portal).
  3. Click Cancel subscription on the right side of the page. Screenshot of cancellation option in billing portal
  4. Click Cancel subscription again to confirm.
If you cancel in the middle of a billing period, your plan remains active until the end of the period, and your unused tokens are still available. At the end of the billing period, your cancellation comes into effect, and your token limit drops to the free tier level. If you’ve already upgraded to a higher-tier paid plan during your current billing cycle, you’ll need to wait until the subscription renews to downgrade to a lower-tier plan. You can still cancel your subscription at any time. Note that any tokens you receive during mid-cycle upgrades roll over as normal, as long as you maintain a paid subscription. For more information, check out the Token rollover section.

Request a refund

We understand that sometimes plans change. Our subscriptions are non-refundable per our Terms of Service, but if you’re facing special circumstances, reach out to [email protected] and we’ll see how we can help.

Update your billing information

If you are on any paid plan (Pro or Teams), you can update your billing information by following these steps:
  1. Log in and go to My Subscription.
  2. Click Manage billing in the top-right (this opens the Billing portal).
  3. Click Update information. Billing Update Info Pn
  4. Make your changes, then review for accuracy.
  5. Click Save.
These updates will apply to your next invoice and all future ones.
Unfortunately, we can’t change billing details on invoices that have already been paid and processed.

Download invoices

Users on Pro and Teams plans can view and download invoices through the SkackBlitz Billing Portal by following these steps:
  1. Hover over the left side of the screen, then click My Subscription.
  2. Click Manage billing in the top-right (this opens the Billing portal).
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page, where you will see your INVOICE HISTORY.
  4. Click an invoice.
  5. Click Download invoice or Download receipt.
An invoice tells you what you owe; a receipt confirms you’ve paid it.

Incorrect plan information after upgrade

If you upgrade to Pro but still see your account as Personal or Free, try logging out and logging back in again to see if this fixes the issue.
