Team templates are available on Teams plans only. They let teams reuse common project setups, templates, and starting points so everyone can move faster and stay aligned. If you are not on a Teams plan, team templates will not appear in your workspace.

What are team templates?

Team templates are reusable projects created and shared within a team on a Teams plan. Each team template can include files, configuration, and structure that your team wants to use again. When you open one, Bolt creates a new project based on it. The original team template stays unchanged.
Team templates are designed for team workflows and are not available on individual plans.

Open a team template from the homepage

You can start working from a team template from the Bolt home page by following the steps below:
  1. Log in to the Bolt homepage with your Teams account.
  2. Click the Team templates button.
  3. Select the team templated you want to use.
  4. A new project is created using that team template.
The new project behaves like any other project. You can edit files, make changes, and collaborate with your team.

Create a team template

To turn an existing project into a team template template, follow the steps below:
  1. Log in to Bolt with your Teams account and open the project you want to reuse.
  2. Click the project title, then click Save as template…
  3. Give it a clear name and description, so teammates know when to use it.
  4. Click Save new team template.
Once created, it appears in the team templates list for your team.

Edit a team template name or description

Deleting a team template does not affect projects that were already created from it.

Tips for using team templates

  • Use clear names and descriptions, so teammates know what each team template is for.
  • Keep team template focused. Smaller, purpose-driven templates are easier to reuse.
