This article covers signing up for Bolt, confirming your email, resetting your password, and managing your account details, including your email address, username, and account deletion.

Sign up for Bolt

  1. Go to bolt.new.
  2. To open the sign-up dialog, click Get started or submit a prompt.
  3. Choose how you want to sign up:
    • Click Sign up with Google.
    • Click Sign up with GitHub, then authorize the app on GitHub’s authorization screen.
    • Click Sign up with email and password, then enter your email address, a username, and a password.
    • Click Sign up with SSO, then enter your work email address. If your organization has already set up single sign-on, Bolt redirects you to your organization’s sign-in page.
If you sign up with Google, GitHub, or SSO, you’re automatically logged in. If you signed up with your email, you need to confirm your email address before you can sign in.

Confirm your email address

If you signed up with email and password, Bolt sends you a confirmation email.
  1. Open your email inbox and find the message from Bolt.
  2. In the email, click Confirm your email, then return to Bolt and sign in.
If you didn’t receive your email confirmation or it timed out, click Resend confirmation email in the sign-up dialog to request a new one.

Reset your password

If you’ve forgotten your password, click Forgot password? on the Bolt sign-in screen and follow the instructions sent to your email. If you signed into Bolt using GitHub and have forgotten the password to your GitHub account, you can reset it at GitHub’s password reset.

Manage your StackBlitz profile

When you sign up for Bolt, a StackBlitz account is automatically created for you. StackBlitz is Bolt’s parent company, and the two share the same account. Changing your email address or username and deleting your account are managed through your StackBlitz profile at stackblitz.com.

Change your email address

The email address you use to log in to Bolt is managed through your StackBlitz account. To change the email address used to log in and receive notifications, add the new email you want to use, then delete the old one.
If you log in with GitHub or Google, you need a StackBlitz password before you can change your email address. You can create one by clicking Forgot password? on the Bolt sign-in screen.
