If your project’s database isn’t working as expected, find the specific symptom below for steps to resolve it.

Check Bolt’s status

Before troubleshooting, check the Bolt status page for any active incidents. If Bolt is experiencing a known issue, check your project again after the issue resolves to see if that also resolves your problem.

Your database isn’t responding

If Bolt reports that your database is unresponsive, timing out, or having connection issues, restart the database to try to restore the connection. For instructions, see Restart your database. If the database is still unresponsive after restarting, contact support.

Your preview shows a Supabase URL error

If the browser console shows errors that reference a Supabase URL, your project may be expecting a database connection that isn’t set up yet.

Database table permissions error

Bolt database keeps tables private by default, and your app needs to have explicit permissions to read or write information to the database. Bolt should set up the right permissions for you when it creates a new database. If you see a permissions error related to a database table, ask Bolt to fix the permissions.
