Select a UI element
Use Select to target a specific element in your app’s preview and focus your prompt on that part of the interface. When you select an element, Bolt focuses its response on that part of the interface. You can request updates, explore styling changes, or adjust content without describing the element in your prompt.- Log in to your Bolt project.
- In the chatbox, click Select.
- In the preview, point to the element you want to target. Bolt highlights each element as you hover.
- Click the element. Your selection appears above the chatbox.
- Enter your prompt and submit.
Target a specific layer
To choose from all the elements at a location and have greater control over your selection, turn on Pick from layers. This can be useful when you want to target a card or section rather than the button or heading inside it.- Log in to your Bolt project.
- In the chatbox, point to Select, then click the small arrow.
- Turn on Pick from layers.
- In the preview, point to the element you want to target. Bolt highlights each element as you hover.
- Click the element, then, from the Choose Element panel, select the layer you want. Your selection appears above the chatbox.
- Enter your prompt and submit.
Tag a project file or folder
To mention a project file or folder in your prompt, type the@ symbol to tag the resource. Bolt brings up a list of matching files and folders that filters as you type. Select a resource to insert its path into your prompt.
Search the Help Center from the chatbox
You can search the entire Bolt Help Center without leaving your project by following these steps:- In the bottom-left corner of the chatbox, click the plus icon, then click Search Help Center.
- Enter your keywords, and a list of articles will appear.
- Click any topic to open it in a new tab.
